Incident Management System

The incident management system, with its standardized operational structure and common terminology, provides a flexible management system adaptable to small scale activities and major incidents involving single or multijurisdictional responses with numerous agencies. IMS seeks to organize an incident, designate who is in charge and divide labor while insuring life safety, incident stabilization and property conservation. This program examines the five major components that public or private entities need to address in order to establish a disaster preparedness protocol and participants will have a working understanding of the command structure utilized by emergency responders in their area.

This program may be offered as a basic training session to understand IMS or as refresher training for organizations that directly interact with emergency responders.
